ABOUT THE ARTIST
Liz Coin is a NYC-based comedian, actor, and writer whose work spans television, live performance, and international festivals. She has appeared on NBC, Prime Video, Tubi, and in national commercial campaigns, including Amazon and Daily Harvest. Liz holds a degree from Northwestern University and is a proud Second City alum, with a background rooted in sketch, improv, and character comedy.
Her live performance credits include The Second City, UCB, Broadway’s Next Hit Musical (US Tour), Chimp Cocktail (Off-Broadway), the New York Theatre Festival, NY Queer Comedy Fest, DC Sketchfest, and appearances at the Tank, PIT and Magnet Theater. She has performed stand-up and character work across the United States and the UK, building a reputation for bold, high-energy comedy with strong audience connection.
In 2025, Liz debuted her WIP solo show Lizzy Sunshine at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews (four 5-stars) and sold-out performances at Soho Playhouse NYC. The show sold out in Chicago and will tour more U.S. cities and continue expanding internationally in 2026 with a one-week London run.
Coin is currently focused on growing Lizzy Sunshine as a touring solo work to develop for the screen - her goal is to film it as a special, then adapt it into a series.
Liz believes that laughter is the best medicine and she’s ready to fill your prescription! Liz teaches improv in rehab centers (and beyond) with a special focus in bringing sunshine to those touched by addiction. With her unwavering welcoming energy, audiences feel like they’re all on the same team. You might cry, but you WILL laugh, and we'll do it together!
“Lizzy Sunshine is the biggest risk I’ve taken as an artist - it reveals not only what is deeply true about me and about my brother’s struggles with addiction, but also my unique voice as an improviser, comedian, and entertainer.
I take the audience’s hand figuratively and literally (there is a lot of participation!) and let them understand and trust Lizzy Sunshine with over-the-top fun, creating a safe space for moments of raw vulnerability.
Ultimately it’s about having empathy not only for those who are struggling personally, but for yourself as a loved one of someone who’s struggling—which is a lot of us.”
